Reproductive Psychiatry in Houston
If you are pregnant, postpartum, navigating the transition into perimenopause, or struggling with mood changes tied to your menstrual cycle, you deserve care from a psychiatrist who understands the unique biology, hormone shifts, reproductive needs and experiences of women.
I see patients in person in Houston in my office in Memorial on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. For women who are unable to come in person or find it more convenient, telehealth appointments are offered throughout the week.
My Houston office has plenty of surface parking out front and is located within the Memorial Counseling suite on the second floor in Suite 201.
What to Expect from an in-person visit in Houston:
My practice is “cash-pay”, which means that I do not take any insurance. Many women find that the time, attention, responsiveness, and level of expertise they receive in this model of care is well worth the investment.
Initial consultations are 90 minutes and allow time for a thorough psychiatric history, a review of any medications or treatments you have tried, and a collaborative discussion of your goals for treatment. During this visit I ask heaps of questions so that I can best understand how I might be helpful. As we wrap up the visit we will discuss treatment options for you and the risks and benefits for you of those options; you get to decide whether you want to go forward with starting treatment and if it feels like a good fit for us to work together.
Follow up visits are 30 minutes; we will discuss frequency of these visits during our initial consultation, but they will be at a minimum of every 3 months and more frequent if we are starting new medication or adjusting doses.
Outside of our visits I focus on collaborating with other folks you’re in treatment with, including therapists, Ob/Gyns, and primary care doctors, and on being responsive to calls and questions from my patients.
Elisabeth Netherton MD LLC serves patients in Houston, TX and throughout the greater Houston metro area, including patients in Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Katy, Pearland, and surrounding communities. Telehealth appointments are available for patients anywhere in Texas.
