About the Practice
My private practice is cash-based, with afternoon and evening availability for appointments. I offer in-person appointments on Mondays and tele-health appointments on other days of the week.
Women I work with seek consultation with me for a myriad of reasons, including struggles with depression and anxiety, struggles with mood shifts with their menstrual cycles, questions around treating mood and anxiety symptoms during pregnancy or the postpartum period, challenges around parenting little ones, difficulties with mood during treatment for fertility challenges, and difficulties related to perimenopause.
I am certified by Postpartum Support International in perinatal mental health and focus my clinical work on women’s mental health across the adult lifespan.
I attended the University of Texas at Austin for undergraduate education, the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston, and completed residency training in Houston at Baylor College of Medicine. I have previously served as a hospital medical director and inpatient women’s psychiatrist, in emergency psychiatric services, as director of a private practice Intensive Outpatient Program, as an inpatient psychiatrist and faculty member at the Menninger Clinic with Baylor College of Medicine, and in administration within a large group psychiatric practice. I love building relationships with my patients over time and focusing on holistic wellness, with psychiatric medication often being just one component of good care. I love teaching medical students, trainees, and other physicians about how to take better care of their female patients.
